"Who has ever heard of Norma Cenva? ... You think a man designed the first Guild ship? Your history books told you it was Aurelius Venport? They lied. It was his mistress, Norma. She gave him the design, along with five children. He thought his ego would take no less. In the end, the knowledge that he had not really fulfilled his own image, that was what destroyed him." - God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert.

Review: On a Couch Somewhere in America
On a Couch Somewhere in America by J. D. Knight
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
OMG this is golden! Why doesn't it have more reviews? If you are a fellow Psychotherapist, Mental Health Counselor, or/and Psychiatrist, - you will love this book! It starts on a very high comedy note, but not to give anything away, well it will not stay just funny forever, that's the best of the writing I think.
It is both ridiculous at times and quite realistic, I love the sessions "transcripts", the "internal feedback" of the psychiatrist, made me laugh out-loud many times. But despite of it all, the book can and will go to some pretty dark places later on, and for me the change of pace, style and exposition was welcomed, and well realized.
This one will stay in my library because I am more then certain will be re-reading this book again in the new 2016!

Review: Stop Dreaming Start Traveling: The Ultimate Guide to Traveling More and Spending Less
Stop Dreaming Start Traveling: The Ultimate Guide to Traveling More and Spending Less by Russell Hannon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I was not expecting much, and my expectations were exceeded by much! There is not much or almost nothing here for the UK travelers, but if you are from the US and/or Canada you will probably be able to utilize the book advise more fully. It is nicely written, gives a lot of links and scenarios to be tailored to your needs, I will keep this one as a present for my North-American friends over the holidays here!

Review: Land of Promise
Land of Promise by James Wesley Rawles
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Disappointing but interesting too. It was exciting to see how the story will turn out (yes, I did pre-order the book, the premise was original enough). But sadly it ended up being war and gun "porn" and stopped being interesting because of too much politics involved in the tater part of the book. Not enough characters and characters development almost all absent. I do not know If I will be continuing to read the series, but it was still a good alternative history read.

2015 out 2016 in
The most interesting thing for me about the passing of 2015 is, how polarized it actually ended up being! Yes, I have done many things, but did not keep up with all of them. I have re-done a lot, but finished even less.
How will the coming 2016 size up in all of that self-created mess? And what other challenges will it bring? Will it be exciting or boring, will things look up, or be devalued again? These are the questions that bug me today.
And even with not celebrating Christmas and not celebrating New Year (which one, there are so many of them!) it is till interesting to contemplate "a year in review".

Propaganda Games: Sesame Credit - The True Danger of Gamification - Extr...
I actually liked some of the idea when it first became known, - if they would just been measuring virtue or/and goodness instead of obedience to the state!

Miners finish work for the last time at Britain's last deep-coal pit
This is just heartbreaking! These people who have done so much, will almost certainly be abandoned with almost no job prospects - disgraceful!

Review: Her Loving Husband's Return
Her Loving Husband's Return by Meredith Allard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is the last installment in the trilogy and in my opinion the best. It is different in style and pacing, and stands apart from the first two books in the series.
Is it perfect, not at all; but it is a bearable vehicle for the story. It ties all of the loos ends together, finish up story spinets and gives a good The End to the readers.
I enjoyed the historical detour in this book a lot, and the letter forms added to the story a new dimension of "magical realism". The aggressive bigotry showcased in the "human" characters in this story written up in a way that helps the story go forward and it is not too all anointing as it might be expected.
This series was a true surprise. In the beginning I was venomously opposed the vampire story-line, it was so "twilight-like" but it is written so differently and with so much passion that the negative expectations dissipate by the end of the first book in the series.
So, if you want to try this series out, expect a lot of history, a good in all romance and some magic through together to give you a nice story to read through.

December is upon us AGAIN!
I am tired of putting thing on the side, and waiting. I know I have told you this many times before, but in all honesty, after turning 30 this year, and going through the rest of 2015 with all of the turmoil and troubles it has brought to my life and the life of my loved ones, I am just tired... tired of the unproductive thinking process that keeps holding me back from achieving life as I always waned it to be.
There should be no holding back, time is not at all stationery, and despite the fact that I still feel like I am 25, I am not any more, and I never will be. So, why do I wait? Why do I think it will all be resolved magically when in reality it never will get sorted if I personally and actively will get into the job of sorting it out and resolve it NOW!
Bear with me, I do want to do all I can to use the opportunities to my advantage, but I also know myself, to a point that I can say with certainty, I will fail, - the main thing how will I recover from it, and how will me failing, help me still to move toward eagerly, to my real life goals.
So, let's see how it will go, - tomorrow is off-course a better day then ever, but I will start today, start today, and keep up keeping up, in the end - that's all what actually matters.
