A greatly researched story, but very overwritten. Interesting for someone who was never at that side of the world, but not enough smooth to allow true immersion into the story. Very impressive size, yes, but ultimately a letdown as you keep getting yanked from the story due to reader fatigue due to over explanations, and an overabundance of telling and a lack of showing.
