Review: The Red Tent

The Red Tent The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a relatively short book, especially in audio-form but it is well written and immersive. It is always great to re-read it, and some times re-watch the TV series in Netflix, but nothing can be better then reading it fir the first time! One book that influenced so many people, and started a whole new movement.

Next one on my list will be "The Last Days of Dogtown" by the same Author, let's see how it will measure up. N.B. And yes, you saw it right I did read/listen to it in one day.

LOVE this system and enjoyed the book, too!
I do not use YNAB as much as I would like and definitely lack consistency in applying it's principles, but this book did give me a much needed boost!

Review: Time to Burn

Time to Burn Time to Burn by M.L. McIntosh
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Actual Rating 3,5 Stars

This book is precisely the reason why half star ratings should be a thing on Goodreads... It is not 4 stars but it is not 3, - it is instead a very strong and well written 3,5 Stars to be sure!
Whiting here is very good and the story is over all, well realized. I loved some of the idioms and word-play in this so much! The cover is not really to my taste and the formatting is left wanting, but considering that this is a work of a self-published Author, the result is welcoming.
I was surprised that there were no ratings or reviews of this book from readers, disappointing really, I think it does deserve much more attention!
If the story will ever continue or anything else will be written in this universe I will read it just for the world-building alone. Really enjoyed it and it did brighten my day.

Review: Battleship Indomitable

Battleship Indomitable Battleship Indomitable by David VanDyke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is developing very well, the AI plot-line was one of the most interesting to me while reading. Interested in seeing how Book 3 in the series will continue it all!

Woman Most Wild: Three Keys to Liberating the Witch Within Woman Most Wild: Three Keys to Liberating the Witch Within by Danielle Dulsky
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Actual Rating 2,5 Stars

This book is... well in all honesty I do not know WHAT this book is, it is like reading a clone of another book you have read many times and expecting that it will change like the book in Never Ending Story... I gave it a try and was not able to connect with it at this present time; I will reread it again sometime in the future, to see if it might yearly better results for my self-development.

Review: The HAARP Letters

The HAARP Letters The HAARP Letters by Anthony J. Gerst
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book touches on so many aspects of our lives today, that I was astonished realizing it is not widely known. I am not a fan of letters-only correspondence diaries books, but this one struck a cord with me... I hope the series will continue as the first installment is very well researched and gives the reader a lot to think about, even after the book is finished.

Review: The Thorn Birds

The Thorn Birds The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book is undoubtedly a guilty pleasure of mine, I read it from time to time when I crave a familiar fairy tale. It is in no way a perfect peace of writing, but I still love it dearly.

Was very helpful in helping me to identify a stone I have randomly found on a walk one day. New editions are probably much improved, but this one works just as well.

Review: Stand Firm: Resisting the Self-Improvement Craze

Stand Firm: Resisting the Self-Improvement Craze Stand Firm: Resisting the Self-Improvement Craze by Svend Brinkmann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is quite a marvel and was very enjoyable to read. I love the philosophy of Stoicism and it was nice to see it being blended with adequate psychology and an antidote to the craze of Positive Psychology movement that continues to sweep people up in unreasonable denial of the complexities of our modern lives. I will be keeping my copy of the book and will no doubt return to it in the future.

Review: The Golden Princess

The Golden Princess The Golden Princess by S.M. Stirling
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book brings authors interpretations of the Japanese culture to the story, which is a welcome change. Ultimately thou, the bigger story itself is slowed down to a snail's-pace. I do enjoy it and will continue reading, but my overall rating for the series as a whole had been changed to 4 Stars on re-reading it again this year.

Review: The Given Sacrifice

The Given Sacrifice The Given Sacrifice by S.M. Stirling

It is getting better in my opinion, but one thing is certain - it is VERY slow. So, if this kind of thing does not deter you, you might like this story continuation after all!

Was quite disappointed that ALL of the recipes still use Lye-Water... Other than that, a very good directory of recipes and information for soap makers.
