Review: The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

if I could've given 10 stars to this book I would've! It was so great. And what a roller coaster of a read! Off-course it will not be to everyone taste, but to the ones who will enjoy it - I AM SO PUMPED FOR BOOK 2 IN THE SERIES!!! It is a great call back to several popular culture phenomenons but it stannts on it's own two feet very well indeed.

The second instalment was not as exciting as the first one, but it was still a good read. Was very sad about the departures of some characters but it had carried the plot lines well!

Review: The China Pandemic

The China Pandemic The China Pandemic by A.R. Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It was advertised as a post-apocalyptic medical thriller. It was interesting to read about a purposeful community of preppers. I like the characters and yes, it was somewhat slow at times, but I liked the time that was devoted to story development. I am definitely reading the rest of the series!

This book was one of the most exciting Giveaways of 2015 for me. I admit it took me quite a while to read it, but in the end it was very interesting. And the information in it really stretched my brain in the most lovely way. Great book!

As an immigrant, my knowledge of British History is very limited. And this book helped a great deal. It is very informative and interesting. I hope the fact it is a big one, will not deter you from reading it, it is really worth your time!

Review: Unleashed

Unleashed Unleashed by Rachel McClellan

This is a dark in depth YA thriller that respects it's readers and keeps you focused throughout the whole story. I enjoyed it and the cover looks amazing, so if you want a good entertaining read, try this book out you just might be surprised what you find, in a good way.

Review: Watersheds of World History

Watersheds of World History Watersheds of World History by John L. Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book might in all possibility give you a fresh outlook on history as we know it. It is not written in the fashion you might expect from a history orientated book and you might think that it is just rehashing the event we all are familiar with. But if on the other hand history is a boring subject to you this little book might be the one to help you rekindle your interest.

Review: Guy Erma and the Son of Empire

Guy Erma and the Son of Empire Guy Erma and the Son of Empire by Sally Ann Melia
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

For me it was a very difficult book to read and finish. And it took a surprisingly long time to do it. It has a good story and interesting characters but the style overall just does not agree with me. But it does not mean that you shouldn't read it, on the contrary please do! If you like epic page turners this might be just the book for you. It has a lot of things going for it and the plot is fine-tuned.

It is always great to see an apocalyptic fiction set in the UK. This one was a very much appreciated rendition of both possibility and cunning. Very nicely done and will probably warrant a re-read in the near future.

Temporary Obscurity Temporary Obscurity by B. Diehl

I try to avoid poetry, really I do, I think I read to much of it in High School and now it is just too boring fro me. But this one was a nice relatively fast paced albeit small read. I enjoyed the overall feel of it and it gave me a somewhat introspective aftertaste after finishing it. It was time well spent!

Review: Dunces Rock

Dunces Rock Dunces Rock by Kate Jaimet
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I did not read the first book. But this one was still interesting to try. I will admit the genre is not really my cup of tea, but it was still very entertaining. I might not be that interested in YA variations any more, but some times for a relaxing time, it is fun for me to read about how youngsters see and experience the world. It was a book that was very diverse in it's presentation, with good characters a good complementary passing.

Review: To the Edge of Shadows

To the Edge of Shadows To the Edge of Shadows by Joanne Graham
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a book with very detailed and unique writing. it gives a lot of introspection in very unusual ways and is very psychologically subtle. It is evident that the writer did her research and the part of the story where mental health, psychology and memory loss related themes are explored are done very well. Character are believable and lively and twists and turns of the story even when now always surprising are very much interesting to read through. This book has a unique writing style end recognisable metaphoric expressions that really pull you in and make you keep reading. It is quite good of a read if you need to pass time and be intellectually entertained.

Review: Bitter Fruits

Bitter Fruits Bitter Fruits by Alice Clark-Platts
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Crime fiction in not usually something I read. But this book attracted me first of all with it's cover. I am like that, give me a good cover and i will give a book at least a try. To have a female Detective Inspector is interesting, normally from what I notice it is always men. So, that was a nice touch. I do not know if there will be continuations, but if this is a series, it looks like it can be a good read, with developed characters and good in depth writing. It was enjoyable and even somewhat educational too!

If you are a Christian, be that parent or God-parent I think you will find this colouring book useful. It has not only pictures to colour but also all kind of Bible based activities, like puzzles etc.

It has a unique drawing style, minimalist but easy for children to understand. I will be giving my copy to my god-son, and hope he will enjoy it!

It was a very poetic read with a lot of cultural reaschness. I enjoyed the smooth and detailed descriptions and the dialog helped in giving characters much needed development. The book cover art is amazing and the book mark is very pretty.
